Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BIZVERSE 2026 website at bizverse.jklu.edu.in and your participation in BIZVERSE 2026 (the "Event"), organised by the Institute of Management, JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur ("the University", "we", "us", "our").

By using this website or completing a registration, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not register for or attend the Event.

1. Eligibility

To register for and compete at the Event you must:

• be 18 years of age or older;
• be currently enrolled as a student at a recognised college, university or higher education institution, and able to prove it with a valid institutional ID card; and
• have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

Participants under 18 may take part only where their school or college registers them, and where a parent or lawful guardian has given written consent to us before the Event. Please contact us in advance to arrange this.

Employees of the University who are involved in organising or judging the Event, and their immediate family members, are not eligible to win prizes.

2. Registration

Registration is completed through this website. When you register you must give information that is true, accurate, current and complete, and you must upload a clear photograph of your valid college ID card. We use it to verify that you are a student of the institution you name and to admit you to campus.

If you register on behalf of a team, you confirm that every team member has agreed to you submitting their details and ID photograph, and that you have shared our Privacy Policy with them. You are responsible for passing on to your team any communication we send you about the Event.

A registration is confirmed only once payment has been received and your registration ID has been issued. We may refuse or cancel a registration where the information given is false or incomplete, where the ID supplied cannot be verified, or where a place is no longer available.

This website does not create user accounts, and there is no login or password. Your registration ID identifies your entry. Keep it safe, and quote it when you contact us.

3. Fees and Payment

Fees are stated in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless we state otherwise at the point of payment. The total payable is shown to you before you are taken to the payment page.

Payments are collected by Cashfree Payments, an independent payment gateway. Your card, UPI or net banking details are entered on Cashfree's systems and are never seen or stored by us. Your use of the gateway is also subject to Cashfree's own terms. We are not responsible for a failure, delay or error of the payment gateway or of your bank, though we will help you resolve one where we can.

If a payment is deducted from your account but your registration is not confirmed, contact us with your transaction reference and we will trace it, as described in section 4.

4. No Refund Policy

Competition entry fees and accommodation and food charges are final, non-refundable and non-transferable. Places are limited, and confirming your entry means a place is held for you and withheld from someone else. Catering and accommodation are committed in advance on the strength of confirmed registrations.

No refund, credit or part-refund is given, including where you:

• change your mind, or withdraw for any reason;
• do not attend, arrive late, or leave early;
• attend only some of the events you registered for;
• are unable to travel, or are prevented from attending by examinations, college commitments, illness or any other personal circumstance;
• do not use the accommodation or meals you paid for; or
• are disqualified, refused entry or removed from campus under section 13.

A registration cannot be transferred to another person, to a different competition, or to a future edition of the Event.

Payments that did not go through

This is not a refund, and the paragraph above does not apply to it. If money is debited from your account but no registration ID is issued to you, or you are charged more than once for the same registration, contact us with your transaction reference. We will trace the payment with our gateway and either confirm the registration it was meant to pay for, or return the amount that should not have been taken. Amounts returned this way go back to the original payment method, normally within 14 working days of us confirming the error, though the time your bank takes to post the credit is outside our control.

If we cancel or postpone

If we postpone the Event, your registration carries over to the new dates at no extra cost. If we cancel the Event outright, or cancel a competition you registered and paid for, and do not run it on a later date, we will contact registered participants to tell them how we will deal with the fees paid for it.

5. Your Submissions

"Submission" means anything you send us or present at the Event as part of a competition: a business plan, case study response, pitch deck, financial model, video, reel, meme, prompt, presentation, code, or any other work.

The permission you give us

By making a Submission, you grant the University a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, reproduce, display, perform, distribute and publish your Submission, in whole or in part, for these purposes only:

• Running and judging the competition, including sharing it with our judges, mentors and organising team.
• Recording and reporting the Event, including publishing entries, extracts, results and winning work on our website, our social media channels, our report of the Event and University publications.
• Promoting future editions of BIZVERSE and the University, including showing past entries as examples of what the Event produces.

This licence continues after the Event ends, so that material we have already published can stay published. It does not let us do anything else. In particular:

• We will credit you and your team by name wherever we publish your Submission, unless you ask us not to.
• We will not sell, commercially exploit, or sub-licence your Submission to a third party, and will not implement a business idea from it, without your separate written permission.
• We will not register any intellectual property right in your Submission in our own name.
• If you ask us in writing to stop publishing your Submission, we will remove it from our own channels within a reasonable period. We cannot recall printed material already distributed, or copies held by third parties.

What you promise us

By making a Submission you confirm that:

• it is your own original work, or you hold the rights and licences needed to submit it and to grant us the licence above;
• it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, design right, privacy or other rights;
• it is not defamatory, obscene, harassing, discriminatory, misleading or unlawful; and
• where it contains third-party material used under a licence or fair dealing, you have said so.

Confidentiality

Do not include confidential or trade secret information in a Submission. Submissions are seen by judges and mentors who may be from industry, and may be published as described above. We cannot treat a Submission as confidential and we accept no obligation of confidence in respect of one. If your idea needs protecting, protect it before you enter.

Similar ideas

Many teams enter the same competitions and arrive at similar ideas independently. Nothing in these Terms prevents the University, another participant, a judge or a sponsor from independently developing something similar to your Submission, provided they do not copy it.

Feedback about the Event

Suggestions, comments or feedback you send us about how the Event or this website is run are separate from a Submission. We may use those freely, without restriction or compensation.

6. Our Intellectual Property

This website and its content, including its design, text, graphics, photographs, logos and code, together with the BIZVERSE and JK Lakshmipat University names and marks, are owned by or licensed to the University and are protected by Indian and international intellectual property law.

You may access the website and download or print material from it for your own personal, non-commercial use in connection with the Event. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, adapt, distribute, sell or exploit any part of it without our prior written permission. To ask for permission, write to lokanathmishra@jklu.edu.in.

Sponsors' and partners' logos and marks remain the property of their owners.

7. Competition Rules and Judging

Each competition has its own rules, format, team size, timings and judging criteria, published on its page on this website. Those rules form part of these Terms. Where a specific competition rule conflicts with these Terms, the competition rule applies to that competition.

Judges are appointed by the University. Judging decisions and results are final and are not open to appeal, except where there has been a manifest error in tallying scores. We may correct such an error even after results are announced.

We may disqualify an entry that breaches the rules, is submitted late, is plagiarised, or was produced with assistance that the competition rules did not permit.

Prizes are awarded at our discretion and are subject to the winner producing valid identification and proof of enrolment. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless we say otherwise. Any tax payable on a prize is the winner's responsibility. If a competition receives too few entries to be viable, we may withdraw it and will contact the participants who registered for it.

8. Code of Conduct

The Event takes place on a working university campus. While registered for or attending the Event you must:

• follow the instructions of the organising team, faculty coordinators and campus security;
• follow the University's campus rules, including its rules on smoking, alcohol and prohibited substances;
• treat other participants, volunteers, staff, judges and guests with respect;
• carry your college ID and your registration ID, and produce them on request; and
• respect University property and the property of others.

The following are not permitted: harassment, bullying or intimidation of any kind; discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, region or any other characteristic; violence or threats; damage to property; plagiarism or cheating; impersonating another participant; and any unlawful activity.

If you experience or witness a breach of this section, report it to a faculty coordinator or to the contact in section 20 as soon as you can. We take such reports seriously and will handle them confidentially so far as we reasonably can.

9. Accommodation and Campus Access

Where you have paid for accommodation, it is allocated by us and is on a shared basis. Specific rooms, buildings or roommates cannot be guaranteed. Accommodation is provided for the nights of the Event only.

Meals provided cater to the dietary preference you gave at registration. We will make reasonable efforts to meet it, but we cannot guarantee that food is free from any particular allergen, and we do not operate an allergen-free kitchen. If you have a food allergy or a medical dietary requirement, tell us in advance and check with catering staff on the day.

You are responsible for your own belongings. The University is not liable for property lost, damaged or stolen on campus.

Entry to campus is subject to security checks. We may refuse entry to, or remove from campus, anyone who cannot produce valid identification or who breaches section 8.

10. Photography and Media

We photograph and film the Event for records and for promotion. By attending, you agree that we may record your image, voice and likeness in photographs and video taken at the Event, and may publish that material on our website, our social media channels, in press coverage, and in University publications and promotional material, without payment to you.

If you would prefer not to be featured, tell a member of the organising team at the Event, or write to us afterwards, and we will make reasonable efforts to avoid using identifiable footage of you and to remove it from our own channels on request. We cannot remove material already printed and distributed, or content posted by other attendees, the press, or sponsors.

Participants and guests may take photographs for personal use. Filming or recording competition sessions, speaker sessions or judging is not permitted without our permission.

11. Use of This Website

You agree not to:

• use the website for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of these Terms;
• submit false registration information, or register on behalf of someone without their permission;
• upload an ID card or document that is not genuinely yours or your team member's;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website, its servers or its data;
• probe, scan or test the website for vulnerabilities, or interfere with its operation;
• use a bot, scraper or other automated means to access, copy or monitor the website; or
• upload anything containing a virus or other harmful code.

We may investigate and take appropriate action, including cancelling a registration, refusing access, and reporting the matter to the authorities.

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability in this website, please report it privately to the contact in section 20 rather than disclosing or exploiting it. We will not pursue action against anyone who reports a genuine issue responsibly and in good faith.

12. Changes to the Event

We aim to run the Event as advertised, but details published on this website are indicative. We may change the schedule, venue, format, competition list, judges, speakers, prizes or capacity, and may postpone or cancel the Event or any part of it, where we reasonably need to. Reasons include low registration numbers, the unavailability of a speaker or judge, safety concerns, and circumstances outside our reasonable control such as extreme weather, public health restrictions, civil disturbance, strikes, failure of utilities, or a direction from a public authority.

We will publish material changes on this website and, where you have a confirmed registration, notify you by email. How fees are dealt with in these situations is set out in section 4.

We may also update these Terms. The version published on this page at the time you register is the version that applies to your registration, unless a change is needed to comply with the law. We will update the "Last updated" date whenever we make a change, and will notify registered participants by email if a change is significant.

13. Disqualification and Removal

We may cancel your registration, disqualify your entry, withdraw a prize, or require you to leave campus, with immediate effect and without refund, if you:

• breach these Terms or a competition rule;
• breach the code of conduct in section 8;
• gave false information at registration, or cannot produce valid identification;
• plagiarise, cheat, or misrepresent the authorship of a Submission; or
• act in a way that endangers or seriously disrupts other participants, staff or the Event.

Where the circumstances allow, we will hear your explanation before deciding. Our decision under this section is final.

14. Disclaimer

This website and the Event are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations that are not expressly set out in these Terms.

We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error free, or that information on it is complete or free of mistakes. We may correct errors in pricing, schedule or content at any time.

Content from speakers, judges, mentors and sponsors is their own. It is offered for education and discussion and is not professional, financial, legal or investment advice. Any competition simulating trading, investing or business decisions is an educational exercise only, and nothing in it should be relied on for a real financial decision.

We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the content or practices of any third-party website linked from this website, including those of our payment gateway, sponsors and partner institutions.

15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

• we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business opportunity, data, reputation or anticipated savings;
• we are not liable for loss, theft of or damage to your personal property while you are on campus or in transit;
• we are not liable for a failure of, or an error made by, the payment gateway, your bank, or any other third party we do not control; and
• our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Event or these Terms is limited to the total amount you paid us in registration fees.

You attend the Event and take part in its activities at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own health, safety and insurance, and for your travel to and from the campus.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the University against any loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal costs) it reasonably incurs as a result of your breach of these Terms, your breach of the code of conduct, or a third-party claim that your Submission infringes their rights.

17. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you register, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It forms part of these Terms. By registering, you confirm that you have read it.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or with the Event, are governed by the laws of India.

If you have a complaint, please raise it with us first using the details in section 20. We will acknowledge it within 7 working days and try to resolve it within 30 days. Most issues are settled this way.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved between us, the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan have exclusive jurisdiction over it.

19. General

• Whole agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the published rules of each competition, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Event, and replace anything said or written beforehand.
• Severability. If a court finds any provision of these Terms unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision on one occasion, we do not give up the right to enforce it later.
• Assignment. You may not transfer your registration or your rights under these Terms to anyone else without our written consent. Registrations are personal to the registered participant.
• No partnership. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment relationship or agency between you and the University.
• Language and headings. Headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
